Introducing Unreal Engine 4
The most world-class game engine to date, Unreal Engine 4 gives you the power to do more than ever before. It enables you to achieve high-end visuals, while remaining both scalable and accessible to make games for low spec PCs.
Unreal Engine 4’s next-generation renderer targets DirectX 11 GPU’s and it will change the lighting of the games, making everything look more real. Epic Games has said that we shouldn't expect Unreal Engine 4 to ship until next year (at the earliest), so games actually using the technology are even further out.
It doesn't look like the current consoles can run Unreal 4, so it begs a console upgrade cycle, and it won't run on smart TVs, so the available market is likely mid-to-high-end PCs for the near term,
